Systems Architect & Principal Operator
Every system I install was learned by running it under pressure.
I do not advise businesses from a slide deck or theoretical frameworks. For nearly thirty years, I have engineered workflows, managed high-stakes physical builds, directed frontline workforces, and architected software engines across government, commercial spaces, real estate, and private enterprise.
I know how work actually breaks down, because I have held the tools, the contracts, and the liability.
The Work Behind the Systems
Public Sector & Crisis Workforce Operations
Appointed at 25 to supervise operations at a New York State regulatory agency in Brooklyn, I took leadership of nearly 40 personnel two days after September 11, absorbing staff displaced from the agency’s Manhattan office. I restructured scheduling and rotations across a 14-position operation and six active courtrooms to sustain uninterrupted public service. Beyond workforce governance and judicial calendaring, I directed internal audits that resolved systemic time-and-leave discrepancies, instituted contingency local-entry and state-verification workflows during a central system backlog, surfaced an anomalous violation pattern confirmed at the state level, authored the operation’s comprehensive training manual, and delivered an entire office relocation ahead of schedule.
A 27-Year Strategic Advisory Partnership
Since its inception, I have served as strategic advisor to a New York market research recruitment firm. Over twenty-seven years, I guided the founder’s transition from an individual subcontractor to a direct master contract holder with an independent client base, successfully advising against an acquisition that would have absorbed the firm and its client relationships. I architected the restructuring of the firm’s delivery model, shifting from founder-delivered recruiting to an outsourced fulfillment team whose core personnel have been retained for over fifteen years. Today, the founder leads the business rather than performing its core service.
Renovation, Project Recovery & Physical Builds
Bonded, I have delivered full renovations, conversions, and additions, as well as investor projects spanning electrical, structural, and layout reconfigurations with end-to-end material sourcing and procurement. To eliminate rework, I developed bilingual, illustrated job documentation that allowed subcontractor crews to execute to specification without full-time on-site supervision. When called in to rescue a distressed renovation abandoned by an unlicensed contractor, I secured bonding and contracting authority, engaged master electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general trades, executed structural remediation to engineering specifications, secured an emergency lender payment freeze, and passed municipal inspection in just over thirty days with zero reduction in final sale price.
Facility Operations & Commercial Leaseholder Protection
In Charlotte, I grew a three-room studio into a 12-suite commercial wellness collective, deploying nearly $100,000 in capital across a partial build-out. I structured lease terms, rent schedules, and inclusions for twelve independent subtenants, governed tenant selection and compliance, instituted security, access control, and life-safety systems, created a professional certification program that trained hundreds of practitioners, and maintained a 4.9-star rating across 203 public reviews. When the master sublandlord entered bankruptcy, I stepped in to stabilize the property: enforcing critical mechanical and hazardous-waste covenants, protecting the twelve independent business owners inside, and executing an orderly 60-day exit with key industry relationships intact.
Real Estate Governance & Spun-Out Software Architecture
Through Kristal J Consulting, I direct operations for real estate investors, commercial tenants, and private lenders, governing commercial leases and letters of intent, transaction management from contract to close, and lender draw validation. To eliminate manual data entry and track project gates in real time, I architected a proprietary platform for lender-grade deal analysis, vendor tracking, permit compliance, and stage-gated project workflows. That platform was engineered with enough technical rigor and operational scale that it was subsequently spun out as an independent technology company.
Multidisciplinary Enterprise Execution
I founded an independent event production and talent company at 20. At 21, I pitched, contracted, and secured Irving Plaza in NYC for the company’s inaugural commercial production with celebrity performers on the bill. I directed casting across a fifty-model roster, managed fittings with New York fashion houses, handled box office operations and wholesale vendor procurement, and led 50+ personnel while concurrently working full-time roles in enterprise telecommunications and state government. I have since built and operated across retail and logistics, scaling a footwear brand from direct sales to e-commerce and a Charlotte storefront with overseas leather manufacturing, launching a wholesale skincare line, establishing an accredited group travel operation, and preparing tax returns for private clients.
The Operator’s Standard
I learn every job I manage because I will not hold a team accountable to a system I do not understand.
My role inside your company is simple: I take what is in your head, untangle the daily friction, and build the operating architecture that runs your business. Whether restructuring your team’s weekly rhythm, locking down contractor draws, or automating fulfillment, I build systems clean enough for human beings to execute without confusion, and durable enough that the business thrives when you walk out of the room.
“Kristal doesn’t give encouragement; she gives you the next move. She positioned me to go independent, told me what to demand and from whom, and built the outsourcing model my firm still runs on. Winn Winn Research has had one operations advisor for twenty-seven years, and it’s her.”
